London Trip

Well we made it back in the States on time Sunday, however, the bad weather through Washington DC canceled our flight for the night and we finally got a flight the next morning at 7 am. We got to the airport and at this point our vacation was over we were really ready to see the kids and almost couldnt get there fast enough. United messed up alot of peoples tickets including ours and it took about 45 minutes to check in and get our boarding passes and at this point was the point that we were informed that the new airline didnt know where our luggage was. There was 3 different couples and we were lucky enough to be included. There was a slim chance that it might be at Nashville airport though. We were suppose to be checked in only with person to luggage match due to the international flight that we had just come off of, but this was impossible and therefore they had to notify us. So at this point we knew we only had 45 minutes to get to the other side of the airport and through security. Of course, Glenn and I being the lucky ones we are got pulled out for extra screening through security :) If you have never been through this before it is an experience. You go through a machine, which does puffs of air on you and then you basically wait. I held it together good until this point and thats when I started to cry. I wasnt crying because of the extra security, I am thankful that they do things like this even if it isnt up to my timing on things. (Dulles was origination of 9-11) I was crying because I wanted to go home and get the kids. So we rushed and made the airplane of course. Went to Charlotte. Missed the first flight in Charlotte because they overbooked and we were holding anyway. Got roundtrip tickets to use for the next year with them though, which was nice. However, had to wait 2 more hours and then finally fly to Nashville. :) Then of course came the hour and a half drive to even get to the kids and then get them finished packed and then another hour home. Pulled up to get the kids though and Dekan said Mommy! Mommy! Mommy!!!! That made it all better.

London was absolutely amazing! Loved every minute of it. It was nice to experience things with Glenn and be with Daron and Nikki. Both of them have seemed to really adjust being there and they have a very nice place to live and he is doing really well with his work. She is getting ready to start school in the fall there and looking forward to that as well. Couldnt of asked for a nicer person for a future sister-n-law. They both seem very happy. :)

We took alittle over 1200 pictures so be thankful you dont have a slideshow of 400 to look at, but if you want to see them I will show you!

We were able to go to Paris and Dublin as well. Both were wonderful trips! Dublin was alittle cold, but worth going to see. Daron took us to see the musical Spamalot while we were there. That was hilarious and an amazing performance!

Overall, the best trip we could of ever taken. Unfortunately, Glenn went back to work this morning and I started back up last night. Vacation no more :( Good to be back with the kiddos though!

wow. It's hard to imagine Daron (the kid I grew up with) living in England. He's really done well for himself.
